How to choose

Most clients start with Compass and move up the ladder as the opportunities clarify. Use this as a quick sorter.

  • No website? Start with Presence. Compass can come later if AI is on the roadmap.

  • Have a website but unsure where AI fits? Start with Compass. The deliverable ranks the opportunities and recommends what to build next.

  • Already know what you want deployed? Buy Spark directly. Stack two or three for adjacent workflows.

  • Need a custom system, not a templated workflow? Engage Engine. Most engagements come out of Compass; pre-qualified buyers can scope directly.

Common questions

The questions buyers ask most often before booking.

I have a website but it's not great. Do I need Presence or can I start with Compass?
Start with Compass. The Compass deliverable will tell you whether your existing site is good enough to keep, or whether a Presence redo should be the first build off the assessment. Don't pre-commit to a redo — let Compass surface it if it matters.
How is Compass different from a free consultation?
Compass is a paid engagement with a written deliverable you keep. A free consultation is a sales call. The $1,000 ensures we both take it seriously and gives you real output — a ranked opportunity map with quantified impact and effort — that's useful whether or not you ever work with us again.
Does the Compass fee apply toward what I build later?
Yes. If you engage us for a follow-on build (Presence, Spark, or Engine) within 12 months of your Compass deliverable, your $1,000 credits in full toward that engagement. The credit applies once, to your first follow-on. Compass either earns its keep on its own or pays for itself when you build.
Can I buy Spark without doing Compass first?
Yes, if you already know exactly which workflow you want deployed. We'll confirm fit on a 30-minute scoping call before taking payment — Spark is templated, not bespoke, so it has to be the right shape of problem. If you're not sure, Compass is cheaper than the wrong Spark.
What's the difference between Spark and Engine?
Spark is a templated Claude Project deploying one workflow. It's fast (3–4 weeks), priced per workflow, and stackable up to about three workflows. Engine is a custom build — a web application or multi-agent orchestrated workflow — scoped per client over 4–8 weeks. The line: if you can describe the work as “one workflow at a time,” you're in Spark territory. If you need orchestration across multiple workflows, custom integrations, or a system that runs the business, you're in Engine territory.
Can I go straight to Engine without Compass?
Yes, if you have clarity on what you want built. Most clients don't, which is why we usually start with Compass to get to a clear scope first. If you have a detailed spec already, start a scoping conversation directly.
Do you work with enterprises or just SMBs?
Our sweet spot is Main Street Midwestern businesses up to ~200 employees — owner-operated and lower-mid-market firms where Presence, Compass, and one or two Sparks do most of the work. Engine engagements scale into the upper end of that range. We don't currently take on enterprise (>200 employees) or coastal-tech engagements; the ladder is sized below those needs by design.
What industries do you focus on?
Our consulting draws on enterprise experience in Financial Services, Healthcare, and Retail, with strong Midwest and Chicago-area roots. The ladder works across any knowledge-intensive business — professional services, specialty trades, B2B SaaS, and more.
